On a bitter, blustery Thursday night at Homewood Field in Baltimore, the Georgetown Hoyas traveled to Johns Hopkins to square off with the Blue Jays in both teams’ first scrimmage of the season. Despite the brutal weather, a few hardy fans stuck it out to watch the action. Wandering the sideline shooting pictures, it was hard to get a true sense of the play and individuals on the field, but a few things stood out.

St. John’s coach Jason Miller confirmed Thursday morning that Eric DeJohn, an attackman on the Syracuse roster the past two seasons, has transferred to the Red Storm and will join the team for 2014.

“He’s been accepted to school here, has been enrolled in winter classes here and he’s joined our team for the spring semester,” said Miller, who recruited DeJohn when he was at Jamesville-DeWitt (N.Y.).
